The above solution is only for 2.8.5 wordpress.
However, I can tell you straight off – 503 means “webserver not available” (due to high load, or temporary maintenance on the server). So, that’s nothing to do with wordpress, that’s right at the bottom of the stack, not near the top.
If you’re not using a litespeed webserver then it probably means you’re linking to something on someone else’s site, and their server is broken.
